WiFi FAQ
    • What is WiFi?

      • Wireless internet service.

      Why does CPPL have WiFi?

      • An added service for our patrons.

How does someone use the WiFi service?

      • Connect to the network, open your device’s web browser, accept the Internet and PC Use Policy, then select “Continue to the Internet.”

      Where?

      • Wi-Fi is available daily from 8 AM to 10 PM at all library locations. Enhanced parking lot signals are offered at Central, Epps Memorial, Moss Bluff, and Sulphur Regional libraries.

Info regarding Email via the CPPL Wi-Fi

      • To protect our network and prevent spam, SMTP has been disabled on CPPL Wi-Fi. If you're using an email client (software other than a web browser), you won’t be able to send emails while connected. You can still read and receive messages, and save drafts to send later. Accessing email through a web browser will continue to work normally.

Can't find CPPL's Wi-Fi access service on your computer?

      • When in doubt, try the classic fix: reboot.
    • To access Wi-Fi, your device must support 802.11b or 802.11g networking.

      • Connect to the CPPL network, review the Internet and PC Use Policy (Spanish version coming soon), then click the Continue to the Internet button on the splash page.
    • We’ve worked to make wireless access available throughout our branches, but some areas may have limited reception. If you have trouble connecting, try moving to a different spot within the branch.

Please note that our wireless internet access is filtered. By using this service, you agree to comply with the Calcasieu Parish Public Library's Internet and PC Use Policy [Spanish version coming soon]. This policy outlines the limitations of internet access and your responsibilities while using it.

Keep in mind, the library’s wireless network is not secure. Information sent to and from your device may be intercepted by others with the right software.

Library staff cannot provide technical support, and we cannot guarantee a stable connection. The Calcasieu Parish Public Library is not responsible for the safety, security, or data of your device while connected to our network.

Fax and Scanning Services
    • This service is available at all branches and is limited to outgoing faxes only. Incoming faxes are not accepted.
