Born in Lake Charles in 1882, Maude grew up during the period when many first or second-generation pioneers were alive, and heard first- and second-hand stories of the early days of Imperial Calcasieu Parish. Born in Lake Charles in 1882, Maude grew up during the period when many first or second-generation pioneers were alive, and heard first- and second-hand stories of the early days of Imperial Calcasieu Parish. She was entrusted with stories, was given original photographs, letters, other memorabilia, and artifacts, and was allowed to copy original official records. Microfilmed copies of the scrapbooks are available for viewing at the Southwest Louisiana Genealogical and Historical Library.
