Tax Information

All branches usually have these federal tax forms available free of charge. Forms include 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ.

  • Paper form LA state forms are not available at library locations.
  • You may access all State and Federal forms online. 
    • Printing costs are 20 cents per black & white page.
  • You can request a mailed paper copy of a form through the Louisiana Dept. of Revenue website. For more information, please contact (225) 219-2113 or (225) 219-2112.

VITA (The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) and TCE

United Way Worldwide and H&R Block software (MyFreeTaxes)

  • The MyFreeTaxes free income tax preparation program has been available since 2009. Taxpayers prepare their own returns. A free federal and up to 3 state returns can be self-prepared by taxpayers with an adjusted gross income (AGI) of $66,000 or less in 2017.  There is no age limit. (Not available for prior year returns nor for foreign students.)

  • Hours of support are Mon. – Fri. 9 AM– 9 PM (CST), Sat. 11 AM – 8 PM (CST).
